Due to this event, the distance between Earth and Jupiter was reduced to just 591 million km.

Dr. Shashibhushan Pandey, senior astronomer of Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Science (ARIES), told that it was an astronomical event of Opposition. During this event there is Jupiter on one side and Sun on the other side and Earth is right in the middle. Due to which Jupiter gets closest to us on the day of Opposite. Due to its close proximity to the earth, it becomes very large. Apart from this, its shine also increases to a great extent. Due to which he looked very bright on Monday. During this celestial event, he appeared all night with a unique radiance and beauty. While traveling in its way, the distance between Jupiter and Earth keeps on increasing and decreasing according to its way and this sequence continues throughout the year. The next event opposite to the Sun will be on 7th December in 2024 and then on 10th January in 2026, Jupiter will be in Sun Opposition. Now its distance will keep increasing.
