Dr. Shashibhushan Pandey, senior astronomer of Aryabhatta Observational Science Research Institute, ARIES, said that more than 90 sky fireworks would be likely to be seen in this event. Astronomy lovers eagerly wait for it every year.
Meteor showers are considered the most exciting of astronomical events. This astronomical event happens every year during this time. Although meteor showers are seen many times in a year, but the number of meteors in them is less. It is commonly called a shooting star, which is misleading. This phenomenon occurs due to collision of meteors wandering in the sky in the earth’s atmosphere.
Venus between Earth and Sun today
Venus, the most beautiful planet of our solar system, is going to reach between Earth and Sun on Sunday. The last time this coincidence happened was on January 9, 2022. In scientific language, this astronomical phenomenon is known as inferior conjunction. When this coincidence happens, then it will be day time. Therefore, keeping in mind the technology through binoculars, this incident can be seen with caution. It will be necessary to resort to solar filters. In this event, Venus will advance on its path to the south edge of the Sun by 7.7 degrees.
